Zopiclone(ZOP) Rapid Test - Urine JusChek Drug of Abuse Rapid Test

¡¾SUMMARY¡¿
Zopiclone is a nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic agent used in the treatment of insomnia. It is a cyclopyrrolone, which increases the normal transmission of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid in the central nervous system, as benzodiazepines do, but in a different way. Zopiclone is indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia where sleep initiation or sleep maintenance are prominent symptoms. Long-term use is not recommended, as tolerance, dependence, and addiction can occur with prolonged use. Zopiclone is partly extensively metabolized in the liver to form an active N-demethylated derivative (N-desmethylzopiclone) and an inactive zopiclone-N-oxide.
In urine, the N-demethyl and N-oxide metabolites account for 30% of the initial dose. Between 7 and 10% of zopiclone is recovered from the urine, indicating extensive metabolism of the drug before excretion.
The terminal elimination half-life of zopiclone ranges from 3.5 to 6.5hours (5 hours on average). Time to peak plasma concentration is 1 - 2 h, the absorption rate constant is 1.3 h-1and maximum plasma concentration after administration of 7.5 mg is 131µg/l. Zopiclone is recommended to be taken on a short-term basis, usually a week or less. Daily or continuous use of the drug is not usually advised.

¡¾DIRECTIONS FOR CASSETTE USE¡¿
Allow the test, urine specimen, and/or controls to reach room temperature (15-30°C) prior to testing.
1. Bring the pouch to room temperature before opening it. Remove the test cassette from the sealed pouch and use it within one hour.
2. Place the test cassette on a clean and level surface. Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 3 full drops of urine (approx. 120μL) to the specimen well (S) of the test cassette, and then start the timer. Avoid trapping air bubbles in the specimen well (S). See the illustration below.
3. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. Read results at 5 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10minutes.

¡¾DIRECTIONS FOR PANEL USE¡¿
Allow the test, urine specimen, and/or controls to reach room temperature (15-30ºC) prior to testing.
1. Remove the test panle from the sealed pouch and use it within one hour.
2. Remove the cap.
3. With the arrow pointing toward the urine specimen, immerse the test panel vertically in the urine specimen for at least 10 to 15 seconds. Immerse the strip to at least the level of the wavy lines, but do not touch the plastic device.
4. Replace the cap and place the test panel on a non-absorbent flat surface.
5. Start the timer and wait for the colored line(s) to appear.
6. The result should be read at 5 minutes. Results may be stable up to 1 hour after test initiation.

¡¾DIRECTIONS FOR DIPSTICK USE¡¿
Allow the test, urine specimen, and/or controls to reach room temperature (15-30ºC) prior to testing.
1. Bring the pouch to room temperature before opening it. Remove the test dipstick from the sealed pouch and use it within one hour.
2. With arrows pointing toward the urine specimen, immerse the test dipstick vertically in the urine specimen for at least 10-15 seconds. Do not pass the maximum line (MAX) on the Test Dipstick when immersing the strip. See the illustration below.
3. Place the test dipstick on a non-absorbent flat surface, start the timer and wait for the colored line(s) to appear. Read results at 5 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.
